This page has been a long time in the coming, and it has been a strange serpentine route to arrive back at this point. As I was growing up I wanted to be an artist. I was always drawing and doodling. As I reached high school I thought I would become a graphic designer in the fashion industry. I was soon exposed to architectural and engineering drafting, and the allure of “Big Money” from the engineering world soon took my focus. Though design was never truly far from my mind.
Time passed and I was fortunate enough to be approached with the opportunity to oversee the photography, web design, graphic design and layout for a new women’s publication, Freeplay. This opportunity offered me the ability to get those creative juices flowing again.
Through my time with the magazine I was approached by numerous clients who needed help: updating or creating a website, having a photographer for a portrait or event, or wanted help building graphics for their brand.
That interest brought me to the point I am now, starting a company who’s name I coined while I was in elementary school.
My ultimate goal is to have my clients completely satisfied blown away by my work. I know that there are a lot of options out there vying for your business, so I appreciate you taking the time to learn a little about SMDdesigns. I will promise you this: I will exceed your expectations.
